Before Your Pet’s Surgery

A week before your pet’s appointment, we will email you a copy of the pre-operative instructions.

Dogs/Cats:

  • No food after midnight the night before the appointment, but water is ok.

  • If your pet is on any daily medications, please give these medications as usual and let us know the name and dose when you check-in.

  • Dogs should be on a leash and all clothing/harnesses should be taken with you before dropping off.

  • Cats must be in a carrier (one per pet)

  • Bring your pet’s vaccine records with you to the appointment. A current Rabies vaccine is required, but we can update it at the time of surgery if needed.

If your dog or cat is very fearful or aggressive at the vet, please give us a call at 505-532-3325. In most cases we will have you pick up a pre-visit medication to help your pet be less afraid.

Rabbits

  • Continue to feed your rabbit as usual and bring food with your pet the day of surgery

  • Rabbits must in a carrier (one per pet)

After Your Pet’s Surgery
